Rowan O’Brien

has been interested in the power of human connection through storytelling since they started writing Warriors fanfiction in their spiral ring notebook in grade six. Rowan then attended Canterbury High School for a congregated Literary Arts program from which they graduated with distinction. In 2020, Rowan received their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production from York University. Through this program, they were able to try different roles in film production, as well as create a foundation in their favourite areas – editing, directing, and writing. Rowan continued to write for publications such as HerCampus, IN Magazine, and Rebelle Zine. They are particularly passionate about exploring queer history and culture, as well as playing with the idea of Otherness through monster and magical fiction.
